There are two ways to join in 2010

Full Season $165/$140

If you were a Premier Card member in any year 2000–2009, you can re-join in 2010 at the discounted rate of $140. Current bCard holders, Friends of the Film Archive, Actors Equity members, students and beneficiaries with ID may also join at this discount rate. Please show your ID or membership card to receive the discount.

Premier Card members – join with a friend!
Two friends joining AFS as new members at the same screening can join at the discount rate of $140 each.
A returning member who brings a friend who is joining as a new member – both can join discount rate of $140. As a thank you, we will give the returning member a free single pass to bring another friend along to any screening in the 2010 Season.

New Zealand International Film Festival 2010, Auckland 08– 25 July 2010
Auckland Film Society Premier Card members may book TWO tickets per session (even if one ticket is for a non-member) at the Film Society discount rate for A-coded sessions for advance mail, phone and internet purchases before 8 July, and ONE ticket per session for counter bookings and day sales (ID required).
Academy Cinema, $11 all sessions (excluding festivals and special events)
Rialto Cinemas Newmarket , $10 Monday–Friday

Student Rates at
Lido Cinema, Monday–Friday
Capitol Cinema, Monday–Friday

12-month membership from date of purchase. If you buy a Premier Card in May 2010, for example, you will receive free entry to AFS films until May 2011. Cinema discounts apply until your card's expiry date (stamped on your card).

Parking discount
A 50 percent parking discount is available on AFS screening nights if you park after 5pm at the Civic or Victoria St ParkRight carparks, courtesy of Auckland City Council. Please show your AFS membership card.

3-film Sampler : $30

2010 Card members – 3-film sampler subscription price cut!
See any three films in the 2010 Season for just $30.

Plus, 2009 Card members who did not use up their cards last year, can use the remaining blank boxes on their card to see AFS films in 2010.

The 2010 Card is intended to allow new members to 'try out' the film society and to enable people to pay for a Premier Card by instalments. Please note that no film festival or cinema discounts apply to 2010 Cards.

2010 Card membership gives you:

FREE entry to ANY THREE films in the AFS 2010 Season - strictly non-transferable
Valid for admission to Auckland Film Society screenings only

FREE Close Up magazine – collect your copy at any AFS screening

EXCHANGE five 2010 Cards in your name plus $15 for a Premier Card and enjoy Premier Card benefits.

UPGRADE to a Premier Card to be eligible for the Film Festival discount. Simply pay the difference between the amount you have spent on 2010 Cards and the price of a Premier Card membership.

UPGRADE to a Premier Card before the end of the 2010 Season and receive 12-month membership from the date of purchase of your first 2010 Card. If you buy your first 2010 Card in May 2010, for example, and upgrade to a Premier Card before the end of the 2010 Season, you will receive free entry to AFS films until May 2011. Cinema and festival discounts will apply from the time you upgrade until your Premier Card expires.
